Back-to-back WRC2 Safari Rally Kenya victories for Gus Greensmith

Gus Greensmith and co-driver Jonas Andersson secured victory in the WRC2 category at the 2025 Safari Rally Kenya, repeating their victory from the 2024 edition.

Safari Rally Kenya spans 385 kilometres of treacherous gravel stages through Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and is renowned for its punishing terrain and unpredictable weather. This year’s rally was no exception, with drivers facing tire-shredding ruts and challenging sections transformed into mud baths by heavy rains.

The British-Swedish duo entered the rally seeking points for the first time this season with their Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, aiming to replicate their success from 2024. They maintained a steady pace throughout the event, successfully avoiding the major incidents that affected many competitors. On the final day of the rally, Gus Greensmith’s closest rival, Jan Solans, misjudged a left turn and rolled his car, which cost him over three minutes. This allowed Greensmith to solidify his lead and secure victory in WRC2 by a margin of 3 minutes and 15 seconds.
